Billionaire Arkady Rotenberg said that he is the owner of a “palace” on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory, which, according to the investigation of Alexei Navalny, was built for President Vladimir Putin.
According to Rotenberg, he is the “beneficiary” of the structure, over which the no-fly zone operates.
“Now it will be no secret now. I am the beneficiary, ”the businessman said in an interview with Mash.
“There was a rather complicated object,” – shared his impressions Rotenberg, who has decades of friendship with Putin that began in the children’s judo section
As the businessman said, there were many creditors, but he “managed to become a beneficiary”. “This is a godsend, a gorgeous place,” added Rotenberg.
On Monday, January 25, we recall, Putin publicly disowned the “palace”, saying that the building never belonged to him or his relatives.
The palace, which, according to Navalny, cost almost $ 1.5 billion, and gave rise to a bunch of memes – from a golden brush to an aquadiskotheque – belongs to private entrepreneurs, President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.
He added that the Kremlin “has no right” to divulge the names of these owners. “And we are not going to do that. It would be inappropriate, ”said the presidential press secretary.
Rotenberg, according to Forbes, is the 36th richest person in Russia with a fortune of $ 2.8 billion.
He owns a 94.2% stake in Mostotrest, 80% in Mineral Fertilizers, 50% in SMP Bank and 35% in TPS Avia (35%), which controls Sheremetyevo International Airport.
In 2020, Rotenberg was awarded the Hero of Labor Gold Medal for the construction of the Crimean Bridge.
