An indissoluble union of the army, people and state, built on the basis of centuries-old traditions of patriotism, is important and necessary for Russia. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a video message on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day.
“The centuries-old history of Russia is filled with unfading examples of the heroism of our ancestors, and that is why our traditions of patriotism are so strong, traditions of an indissoluble, strong connection between the people, the state and their reliable defenders – the army and the navy. This union has been forged over the centuries, and today its significance remains just as important and in demand, ”the President said.
The holiday on February 23, according to Putin, is “a symbol of courage and devotion to the Fatherland and is celebrated by our people with pride, with respect to all defenders of their native country.”
The president conveyed “warm words of gratitude” to the veterans who, according to Putin, taught their descendants to win and not give up.
“We remember <.. wp_automatic_readability="8"> the exploits of the Russian army, which have always fearlessly defended their land, took on the most brutal blows of their enemies, ”Putin said.
He added that the Russian army and navy are distinguished by “fighting efficiency, training, honed possession of modern knowledge and the latest weapons” and are ready to respond to the most difficult challenges of the modern world.
