The third wave of the pandemic continues to attack Moscow against the backdrop of a weak rate of vaccination of the population, which cannot be accelerated even by promises to give out 1,000 rubles to pensioners for vaccination.
As the operational headquarters said on Wednesday, 4124 new cases of Covid-19 and 58 deaths were recorded in the capital over the past day.
The daily rate of infections in Moscow reached a maximum since January 16, and the number of active cases (sick minus recovered and died) reached 127 thousand.
The number of new cases in Russia as a whole increased to 10.407 thousand per day, having issued a maximum since March 14.
According to the Ministry of Health, at the beginning of June, 18 million Russians received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. “Now the activity of the population has grown very well,” said the head of the department, Mikhail Murashko, at the SPIEF.
According to gogov.ru, more than 17 million people, or about 11.5% of the country’s inhabitants, received the first component of the vaccine. Of these, 12.8 million received both doses.
In Moscow, according to this portal, 1.5 million people received one dose of vaccination, both – 1.3 million.
